We asked ChatGPT to browse the web, read up on the latest market reports and spending trends, and tell us which AI use cases have the most potential to offer in 2025. Here’s what the world-famous chatbot came up with, along with some of our thoughts on its responses.

1.      Generative AI for Enhanced Business Processes

What ChatGPT told us:

Generative AI has moved beyond chatbots into creating new opportunities across industries. Gen AI tools can drastically cut costs and development times in fields like drug discovery (from years to months) and marketing content creation. Gartner predicts that 30% of new drugs and materials will use generative AI techniques by 2025.

Our thoughts:

Generative AI use cases are definitely gaining more attention right now, as companies discover new ways to use generative tools for all kinds of tasks, from marketing automation, to customer service. At the DTX London event, countless vendors drew attention to the multi-faceted capabilities of generative AI. They showed companies how tools could be used to boost productivity, collaboration, enterprise resource planning, and more.

Moving forward, like ChatGPT, we think we’ll see more companies leaning on generative AI for more than just cutting-edge chatbots. However, they’ll need to take a proactive approach to finding and fine-tuning the right models for various business processes.

We can likely look forward to a wide range of generative AI solutions designed for everything from supply chain management, order processing, research, and development.

2.      AI-Driven Cybersecurity

What ChatGPT told us:

The rise of AI-enhanced threats like ransomware and deepfakes necessitates sophisticated AI-driven security measures. The cost of cyberattacks globally is expected to grow beyond $10 trillion annually by 2025, pushing businesses to adopt predictive and autonomous AI systems. Companies will begin investing more money into AI tools for predictive threat detection, automated security, and disinformation security systems to verify authenticity and prevent fraud.”

Our thoughts:

Enhancing security definitely seems to be one of most compelling AI use cases for businesses in 2025. According to a Telarus report, cybersecurity is currently the second most significant driver behind current IT investments (behind AI). Already, about 60% of IT leaders are looking into AI-powered cybersecurity solutions to enable real-time threat monitoring and loss prevention.

Although AI itself does present some cybersecurity risks, it can also help to enhance risk assessment processes, and give companies more resiliency in an age of advanced threats. Companies of all sizes will undoubtedly begin looking for ways to use more AI solutions for fraud detection, identity verification, and SIEM processes in 2025 and beyond.

3.      Customer Experience (CX) Transformation

What ChatGPT told us:

AI’s role in personalizing and automating CX has become indispensable. AI-driven contact centers can reduce customer response times by 70% and improve satisfaction by up to 50% through personalized engagement. Today’s companies can now implement AI-driven chatbots for 24/7 support, utilize AI for customer journey analytics to predict trends, and reduce customer service costs.

Our thoughts:

Enhancing customer experience has been one of the major AI use cases for many businesses for some time now. That’s only going to continue as we move into 2025. Companies are facing increasing pressure to deliver more convenient, omnichannel, and personalized experiences to customers at scale, and the latest AI technologies can help with this.

In 2025, companies in every industry will be relying on AI to not only provide customers with always-on assistance, but increase customer satisfaction through tailored recommendations and advice. They’ll be using innovative AI bots to map end-to-end customer journeys, automate onboarding processes, and increase retention rates.

Accessing AI solutions for enhanced customer experiences will also become much easier as more major CCaaS leaders build generative and conversational AI technologies into their platforms.

4.      Sustainability and Energy Efficiency with AI

What ChatGPT told us:

Sustainability is a top priority as companies face increased scrutiny from regulators and consumers. Companies can use AI to achieve greater sustainability goals. AI-driven energy management systems can lower operational costs while meeting carbon neutrality goals. Businesses will integrate energy-efficient computing solutions into data centers and operations to address sustainability goals.

Our thoughts:

This was one of the most interesting predictions from ChatGPT, but it’s also one we agree with. Sustainability has become a major topic of conversation among a lot of businesses – particularly those investing in the latest AI innovations. It was even one of the topics mentioned by some companies at the DTX London event in 2024.

We believe that companies will be looking for more innovative ways to reduce their carbon footprints in the years ahead, whether it’s to adhere to regulations or simply earn customer loyalty and trust. This could mean investing in new cloud systems, data colocation centers, and resource allocation strategies. However it could also mean using more AI to find ways of minimizing waste.

We could see firms in 2025 using AI tools to more effectively monitor energy consumption across facilities, reduce energy costs with automated “switch off” strategies, and track emissions issues.

5.      Cloud Modernization and Hybrid AI Environments

What ChatGPT told us:

Modernizing cloud architecture is essential to accommodate AI’s increasing demands. Companies will need to leverage more advanced cloud computing ecosystems to accommodate the needs of artificial intelligence. Hybrid systems will allow companies to combine cloud flexibility with on-premises security, optimizing cost and performance.

Our thoughts:

This is one of the major predictions we made ourselves when we were attempting to ascertain how companies would be spending their IT budget in 2025. Investing in AI also means investing in the infrastructure and computing resources required to power intelligent models.

Companies in all industries are already in the process of shifting more of their processes and workflows to the cloud, and this will likely continue in 2025. However there will clearly be a need for organisations to carefully consider the right cloud “ecosystem” for their needs.

Not every company will be able to rely exclusively on a full cloud solution, and some may need to consider hybrid structures to combine performance and power, with security. It will be interesting to see how cloud and data center partners respond to the rising demand for the cloud going forward.

6.      Automated Workforce and Agentic AI

What ChatGPT told us:

Agentic AI, which autonomously plans and executes tasks, will support workforce automation in roles like customer service, logistics, and IT operations, creating efficiency and reducing human workloads. Agentic AI will become more commonplace in 2025, as companies discover new ways to create and use autonomous agents.

Our thoughts:

Autonomous agents are a major trend in the AI landscape. They’ve been gaining significant attention for a while now, and adoption is likely to accelerate in 2025, as companies like Microsoft, Google, and even Zoom give companies tools for building autonomous agents at scale.

Autonomous agents aren’t just bots that can complete simple tasks one at a time. They’re solutions that can use machine learning and advanced algorithms to automate entire workflows. For instance, an autonomous agent in the healthcare industry could analyze medical images like MRIs and CT scans, create a treatment plan for a patient, and share it with a healthcare provider.

Of course, there will be challenges to overcome in this space too, like managing the privacy, security, and ethical risks associated with giving AI tools extensive “decision-making” power. Companies will need to ensure they have processes in place to ensure that they’re using agentic AI in a way that’s responsible, ethical, and aligned with privacy and security standards.

Looking Forward to AI Use Cases in 2025

Obviously, ChatGPT has only really scratched the surface of the AI use cases that businesses might want to explore in 2025 and beyond. However, we think that it’s done a good job at identifying some of the priorities that are going to stand out to businesses next year.

There’s definitely going to be an increased focus on using AI for multiple productivity and process enhancements, customer experience, security, and workflow automation. However, for companies to take advantage of these use cases, they’re going to need more than just the right software.
